About Us

Colemans is a family owned and run business established in 1977 and now into its third family generation. Growing from a sole trader then to a well-established business today, employing a number of skilled craftsmen along with having many close links to local sub-contractors. All craftsmen involved in our projects are committed to working to our very high standards. During this time, we have also built up a comprehensive list of very loyal and satisfied customers, quality workmanship and customer satisfaction are our main priorities. Our reputation for distinctive work and unparalleled quality has helped us along the way. This reputation is the backbone of our company due to all of our work stemming from referrals.

Our company consists of two active partners, James and Iveta Coleman. James Coleman joined the family business in 2003 following an established site management role with a large national house builder. James' wife Iveta is the company financial controller. Another key member of the management structure is Kevin Harris who is our senior site manager, Kevin has been with Colemans since he left school and has been crucial to the successful completion of many recent projects. We are also pleased to have Kevin McCabe who is the company surveyor /estimator and Dan Carpenter a further site manager.

Our head office is in Alresford in Hampshire. Our area of work tends to be from Guildford down to Southampton and Basingstoke across to Petersfield. We do however travel further afield at request. Recently we have worked as far away as the South London, The New Forest, Wiltshire and even Frankfurt.

Customer care is important to us, therefore we formally guarantee our work for 12 months following practical completion. We also have ‘National House Building Council’ registration which enables us to carry out new build construction implementing a 10 year NHBC ‘Buildmark’ insurance cover, we also work with various other construction warranty companies.

We appreciate the great importance of health and safety, we have site audits monthly, which are carried out by an independent health and safety adviser and work to a company specific Health and Safety Policy. We also invest heavily in staff ‘health and safety’ awareness training. The progression of a project is naturally important but the safety of our staff takes priority.

Coleman Building Company LLP maintain a comprehensive ‘Contractors Combined Insurance’ policy, which subject to the policy terms and conditions will provide all risks cover for the work being undertaken. In addition, the policy will include cover for any legal liability incurred in respect of damage to third party property or injury to third party persons subject to a limit of indemnity of £2,000,000. A specimen of policy wording is available upon request and terms can be amended for certain projects if specifically required.

We work closely with the ‘Construction Skills’ organisation. We are continually generating, developing and monitoring the company Training Plan. We regularly sponsor apprentices through college and still have craftsmen who graduated many years ago with us today. To train and encourage youth into the industry is securing the future of the industry and our company.

This is another topic we always keep on top of. We are registered waste carriers with the ‘Environment Agency’, we have an internal waste management procedure and run as modern vehicles as practical which are as fuel efficient as possible to keep our environmental impact to a minimum. We are also experienced in the supply and fitting of all renewable sources of energy which we strongly recommend.
